Worker Empowerment Community Network in Los Angeles (WECN-LA) is committed to uplifting workers in the food industry by addressing their unique challenges. Our mission is to foster empowerment and unite diverse individuals in support of one another.
In late 2024, following the restructuring of ROC United, we recognized that our community still needed a program to provide ongoing support. We combined our ideas and leveraged the experience gained from our years of service to launch this new venture.
Our goal is to create a society that honors food chain industry workers and acknowledges their vital role in our communities. Together, we combat racism and sexism in the workplace. By empowering individuals to understand their rights and advocating for political representation, we ignite a movement for change. Through organizing, education, training, and activism, we illuminate the path to a fairer workplace. We extend membership to anyone who wants to advocate for a fairer workplace or is interested in continuing education to develop skills for job advancement or become leaders in knowing their rights as workplace organizers.
