Sat Jan. 15: Meeting & Training for Turkey-Processing Workers
Columbus Junction, Iowa
At the beginning of this year, over 30 immigrant workers from a turkey-processing plant in Columbus Junction were fired from their jobs. FCWA member Center for New Community will conduct a meeting and training to help the workers fight for their owed vacation pay from the past 5-10 years.
Mon Jan. 17: March & Rally to Celebrate Starbucks Workers Union Victory

FCWA member Brandworkers International will join the Industrial Workers of the World Starbucks Workers Union to celebrate the union’s victory after three years of struggle – this year Starbucks staff will receive a time-and-one-half holiday premium for working on MLK Day.
Mon Jan. 17: Worker Testimonies from the Excluded Workers Congress
2-4:30pm, Judson Memorial Church, 55 Washington Square South, New York, NY
Members of the Restaurant Opportunities Center of New York will share stories and experiences with other workers excluded by law or by practice from the right to organize in the U.S. Afterwards at 5pm, ROC-NY will lead a group from the church to deliver a letter to a restaurant demanding that it compensate its employees who have not been paid appropriately for all their hours of work.
Mon Jan. 17: MLK Day Parade
Lakeland, FL
The Coalition of Immokalee Workers, an FCWA member, will march in the annual MLK Day Parade in Lakeland, home to the headquarters of the Publix supermarket chain, to raise awareness about their campaign asking Publix to sign a Fair Food Agreement with tomato pickers in Florida.
