The Food Chain Workers Alliance and a number of member organizations will present at this year’s annual Community Food Security Coalition (CFSC) conference November 5-8, 2011. The theme for this year’s conference is Food Justice: Honoring Our Roots, Growing Our Movement.
The FCWA’s workshop is called Building Worker Power for a Just and Sustainable Food System on Sunday November 6 at 10:45am in Room 208. We will be premiering a new video with testimonies of workers throughout the food supply chain!
The FCWA will also table at the Food Sovereignty Prize Award Ceremony and Food Sovereignty Fair. Look for our table where you can play a trivia game about food workers and win a piece of fair trade chocolate!

Finally, join us at the US Food Sovereignty Alliance forum session on Tuesday 11:45am-12:45pm in room Junior 2/3. The US Food Sovereignty Alliance (USFSA) is working to build and re-balance power in the food system and connect the US food movement to the global movement for food sovereignty. Learn about the concept of food sovereignty and the social movements putting it into practice on the ground and in policy. We will discuss how food sovereignty relates to food justice and community food security and specific struggles for food sovereignty in the US.
