International Food Workers Week
November 24-30, 2013
International Food Workers Week (IFWW) brings awareness to the issues facing food workers, supports their organizing efforts for fair, sustainable jobs and promotes solidarity among workers all across the food chain. In the U.S. alone, nearly 20 million men and women grow, harvest, produce and serve the food that we eat each day. Yet the majority of workers earn poverty wages and work without healthcare and other benefits.
All food workers across the food chain deserve more.
This Thanksgiving week, the FCWA asks you to ‘thank a food worker’ and stand in celebration and solidarity with food workers everywhere.
Get Active! Get Involved!
Show your solidarity and support for food workers by taking part in activities and events happening across the country. Don’t see an event in your hometown? Plan one and fill out this form to let us know what you’re planning and we’ll post it on our website. Some examples of events during our 1st IFWW included actions focused on Darden, Walmart, and Publix; films screenings and discussions; and potluck dinners. Check out our full list of in-person and online actions and events!
